The tried and true OG, Chicago Hardy Fig.  Its small package of berry flavor is a classic that gives abundant fruit without the frills of sexy names and elaborate descriptions.  This oldy is a sure thing and truly does well against the cold in Zone 7a.  No dieback from this fig in NC thus far, and with global warming, I'm not sure it will.  After all, it lives unprotected in Chicago and NYC!
